Preparing for Unemployment<
> Which Direction For My Career

There comes a time for most people when they ask themselves about which direction they should take for their career. For some, this question is asked before their career even begins, perhaps even before entering college.

In most cases, the sooner you can decide on the direction that you would like to take your career, the better. Forethought and planning can help make the decision making process easier earlier on in your career. The first thing you need to remember is that you will likely not start off at the top of the ladder, but rather that you will need to work your way up to your goal career position.

One of the primary considerations when deciding on the directionality of your career is education requirements. Are there special degrees or certificates that you will need to advance your career and where are they available? Time may be a factor, especially if you are already working in the career field of your choice. There may be options of night schools or correspondence courses to get the degrees and certificates necessary to advance your career.

By defining your goals as clearly as possible, armed with information, you can set a course for career fulfillment and find a time frame that will suit your needs and career advancement.

Deciding on the direction you would like to take your career in is not an easy decision to make, nor one you should make hastily. Take your time and clearly define where you want to be in one year, three years, five years and ten years. Research for information to help you understand what you will need to accomplish to meet these goals.

Preparing for Unemployment

by Frank Lawrence

That’s a horrible title, isn’t it? But the fact is, as
secure as we feel we are in our career, things change. I’ve
been laid off and fired from jobs and the fact of the matter
is, employers seldom provide the notice they expect us to
give. If you have a family to support, a career change like
this can be even more devastating. My aim is to help you
prepare for the inevitable….unexpected career change.

Rather than be in a position where an unexpected career
change forces you to run to Walmart and McDonalds to find
jobs that will half cover your loss, you can prepare now to
lessen the hurt that comes from being fired or layed off.
It’ll cost a little money, maybe $500 - $800, but it’s best
to invest now while you are working than to try and find it
the day after a layoff. Imagine setting yourself up to
immediately begin spending your off time pulling in money!

I’ve been experimenting with making money on the internet
for a couple of years now. I have put out a lot of money
trying to unlock the secrets. And there are secrets, well
protected, and after a couple of years of foolish spending,
I’m finally discovering those secrets. I intend to provide
you with the tools to discover those secrets. It’s much more
fun to discover secrets than have them spoon fed to you. I
can guarantee the few tools I suggest will set you on the
road to independence.

OK, let’s get started. Let’s go get a domain name!! Wrong!!
How about let’s go grab some web server space!! Wrong!! How
about we go grab a pen and paper or open Notepad!! Right!!!
Now…let’s jot down some subjects we are especially expert
at. This is in my opinion the simplest and most important
step in your internet marketing plan! It could be gardening,
cooking, plumbing, who knows. Save this list. It is your
personal core in your marketing efforts. It need not be 10
subjects, it could be as few as 2. As you diversify, this
should be the list you’ll refer to at the start of all of
your projects.

Now, let’s start a blog. Simply pop over to blogspot at http://www.blogger.com/home . Follow
the 3 step process to start a blog based on one of the
subjects you jotted down above. Sit back and write an
article on you blog about you interest, tips, etc that would
be of interest to readers.

It’s time to monetize your blog. On your Blogspot admin
page, click the “Template” tab, then select “Adsence”. If
you don’t already have a free Adsence account, you can sign
up on this page. Select the format you prefer and save your
settings. Re-publish your blog and something amazing
happens. Your blog now displays Google text ads pertinent to
the content of your postings. Everytime someone clicks on an
ad, money is added to your Adsence account.

Now, go tell all your friends and family to visit your blog.

NOTE: Do not make the mistake of clicking on your own ads.
Google will quickly detect this and ban you. Also, don’t ask
readers to click on the ads in your postings. That’s also
against Google’s rules.

My next article will address getting visitors to your new
blog as well as how to make more money from it. If you’d
like to receive these articles via email, send me an email
at sales@jaxdistributing.com .
